Cooling Stations
As summers grow hotter, we’re finding new ways to keep our communities safe, comfortable, and connected.
That’s why Way of the Root Farms is developing portable cooling stations — welcoming, eco-friendly spaces where anyone can pause, refresh, and recharge during Minnesota’s warmest months.
These cooling booths will offer shade, hydration, and a moment of relief, especially for those spending time outdoors or working under the sun.
Because caring for our environment also means caring for the people in it. Together, we’re planting the seeds of comfort, resilience, and community well-being — one cool breeze at a time.
Youth Farming Initiative
The Youth Farming Initiative invites young people to step into the heart of agriculture and learn from seasoned community growers. Here, youth plant, harvest, log water and tilling practices, and explore sustainable, organic methods they can use at home. Alongside hands-on farming, they learn customer service and leadership skills that prepare them for real opportunities. This program nurtures confidence, connection, and environmental stewardship, empowering the next generation to grow with the land—and care for it with purpose.
Growing Your Green Training
The FORTIFY Fund’s Grow Your Green Program empowers farmers to strengthen their roots and their resources. Through hands-on training, participants learn farm finance, Schedule F basics, and how to build long-term profitability. More than a course, it’s an investment in resilience, self-reliance, and sustainable futures. Together, we’re nurturing farms that thrive—and inviting growers to rise with us.
